Thai Taekwondo Team Heads to South Korea for 2026 World Cup with Gold Medal Ambitions

Chuncheon: The Thai national taekwondo team is on its way to South Korea, where they will compete in the Chuncheon 2026 World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships Series. The event, scheduled from July 14-16, 2026, is a major sparring competition, and the Thai athletes are focused on securing at least one gold medal.

According to Thai News Agency, the team is led by head coach Chatchai Che and includes top athletes such as Ballang Thabthimdaeng, Natthakamon Wasana, Sasikarn Thongchan, Kanchanalak Chuenchuglin, and Jack Woody Mercer. These athletes, along with several other strong competitors, will participate in men's, women's, and mixed team events.

The Taekwondo Association of Thailand has expressed that winning a gold medal at this competition is crucial for boosting the team's confidence ahead of other significant international tournaments.
