Thai Taekwondo Team Poised for Success at Asian Championships

Ulaanbaatar: The Thai national taekwondo poomsae team is set to showcase their skills at the Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Mongolia, with hopes of securing both medals and qualification for the upcoming Asian Games in Japan. Coach Lee Na-yeon expressed confidence in the team's preparation and potential to make a significant impact at the championships.

According to Thai News Agency, the Asian Taekwondo Federation held a meeting for team managers before the 9th Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Ulaanbaatar. The meeting, attended by coach Lee Na-yeon and Oranvee Srisahakit, focused on the selection process for the 2026 Asian Games and the event pairings for the championships' first day.

The Thai team, featuring athletes such as Navin Pindasut, Ratchadawan Tapianthong, Ratchapol Yaibua, and Watcharakul Limjitrakorn, has been preparing diligently. They tested themselves at the M Bank Arena, ready to compete and aiming to win medals to boost morale and secure their spots for the Asian Games.

Coach Lee advised her athletes to be mindful of the cold Mongolian weather, ensuring their health remains a priority. With a total of 14 Thai athletes participating, the team aspires to claim at least one gold medal at the championships.
