This win secured their place in the quarterfinals in Santiago, Chile.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national team, which finished 4th in Group A, faced Poland, the Group C champions who had won all 5 of their matches in the first round. The Thai women displayed a superb performance to win 3-1 sets with scores of 25-19, 25-21, 10-25, and 25-23.
In this game, Nattamon Atchue scored the highest points for Thailand with 25 points (22 of which were spikes), followed by Chayanuch Inthanu with 19 points and team captain Jamikorn Kankaew with 14 points. Thailand's overall attack score was superior to Poland's at 60 to 50 points, although Poland performed better in blocking at 15 to 4 points. Poland's top scorers were Susanna Lange with 16 points, Gabriela Jakubowski with 13 points, and team captain Alexandra Vika with 12 points.
The Thai women's team got off to a strong start, winning the first two sets. Poland fought back to win the third set decisively 25-10. However, the fourth set was closely contested and exciting, but the Thai team proved more composed, securing a 25-23 victory and clinching their place in the quarterfinals.
