Thai Volleyball Teams Undergo First Physical Fitness Tests for 2026 International Competitions

Bangkok: The Thai volleyball team underwent medical tests as they prepare for upcoming international competitions set for 2026. The Volleyball Association of Thailand has initiated this process to ensure that their athletes are in optimal physical condition for the challenges ahead.

According to Thai News Agency, volleyball players from both the men's and women's national teams participated in physical fitness tests at the Sports Science Center of the Sports Authority of Thailand in Hua Mak. This evaluation is a part of the Sports Authority's regulations and aims to ready the athletes for several key events, including the 2026 CS:V League, the 2026 Asian Volleyball Championship, and the 2026 Asian Games. A total of 40 athletes, comprising 20 men and 20 women, were involved in this first round of assessments.

Athletes currently engaged in professional leagues abroad are required to submit their physical test results in line with the criteria set by the Sports Authority of Thailand. This initial testing phase is crucial for the Thai national team's preparedness for the international competitions scheduled for 2026.

Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, mentioned that the selection of athletes is based on the criteria established by the Sports Authority of Thailand. This is part of the Association's plan to field competitive teams in international sporting events in 2026. Adjustments to the selection process may be made as necessary to ensure the best possible team composition.
