Thai Windsurfing Association Announces Athlete Participation in 2026 European Championship

Chonburi: The Thai Windsurfing Association is gearing up its athletes for participation in the "2026 IQ Foil European Championship" to be held in Portimo, Portugal. The announcement was made during a press conference at Krua Surf Restaurant, Jomtien Beach, Chonburi Province, where the association also celebrated the recent achievements of its athletes. According to Thai News Agency, the event was attended by prominent figures including Vice Admiral Sarayut Daengthes, Vice President of the Windsurfing Association; Mr. Parames Ngamphichet, Mayor of Pattaya; and other local officials and community members. The conference highlighted the bronze medal achievement of 'Whale' Wachirawit Than-up at the Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China, marking a significant milestone for the association. The association announced the roster for the "2026 IQ Foil European Championships" in Portugal, which includes athletes such as Petty Officer 1st Class Nitipat Chaiwutivet, Petty Officer 3rd Class Siriporn Kaewduangngam, Mr. Wachi rawit Tonoup, Mr. Wachirawit Manbamrung, Mr. Ratchanon Khunjaeng, and Ms. Chanatkarn Charoensuk. They will be supervised by Mr. Nattapong Pothinoparat and Mr. Sakda Sakulfaeng. The team is set to depart for a pre-training camp on May 4th, 2026, and will return to Thailand on May 29th, 2026. Vice Admiral Sarayut Daengthes expressed that participating in this championship is crucial for enhancing the international competitiveness of Thai athletes. He praised the commitment of the Asian Beach Games team and congratulated Wachirawit An-up for securing the bronze medal, emphasizing the importance of preparedness for future competitions.
