According to Thai News Agency, the initial leg of the 2026 CV Cup women's volleyball tournament is being held in Hanoi, Vietnam. The Thai team, ranked 17th globally, faced off against the Philippines, ranked 62nd. In their earlier matches, Thailand overcame Indonesia with a 3-1 victory, while the Philippines fell to Vietnam, losing 1-3.
In the recent match against the Philippines, the Thai team's head coach, Kiattipong Ratchatagriangrai, fielded a squad that combined young talent with experienced players. The lineup featured captain Natthanicha Jaisan, Sasipaporn Chantavisut, Warisra Seethalert, Kanyarat Khunmuang, Nantnapat Mulchakham, and Kaewkallaya Kamulthala, with Kalyarat Khamwong as the libero. The closely contested game extended to five sets, with Thailand narrowly clinching the victory 3-2 (25-17, 19-25, 25-15, 18-25, and 15-10).
