Bangkok: The Prime Minister participated in promoting Thailand's bid to host World Pride 2030 and campaigned for gender equality during Pride Month. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul received a "Road to Bangkok WorldPride 2030" pin from a delegation of the Pride City Network to promote gender equality in society during Pride Month and to support Bangkok's bid to host WorldPride 2030.
According to Thai News Agency, in 2026, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and its network partners are accelerating policy development at the provincial and city levels to embrace gender rights and equality, and supporting Thailand's bid to host World Pride 2030. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on May 28, 2026, to establish pilot provinces for gender equality, receiving support from 57 provinces and 1 city. This symbolizes the collaborative power of all sectors, reflecting the readiness of provincial and city levels to seriously promote gender equality in their respective areas.
The activities organized by all sectors throughout June (Pride Month) reflect their readiness to seriously promote gender equality in Thailand and to work together to create a society that embraces all gender diversity. In particular, they are prepared to support all activities that will enable Thailand to host World Pride in 2030.
