Thailand: Thailand and Indonesia expanded their bilateral cooperation on Tuesday through the exchange of four Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and marked a key financial milestone, Thai Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek said.
According to Thai News Agency, following his keynote speech at a business forum in Jakarta, Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul witnessed the exchange of the four MOUs between public and private entities of both nations. The agreements cover key economic growth sectors, including tourism promotion between the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and PT Trinusa Travelindo (Traveloka Indonesia), strategic marketing, communications, and tourism cooperation between TAT and PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri, carbon market cooperation between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and the Board of Trade of Thailand, and general economic cooperation between KADIN and the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia.
In a separate ceremony, the Prime Minister witnessed the presentation of official approval for Maspion Bank's name change to PT Bank Kasikorn Indonesia Tbk. The name change was formally authorized by Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) on July 13.
The spokesperson added that Thai investment in Indonesia reflects business confidence in the country's economic growth prospects and represents a key step for Thai financial institutions in strengthening regional connectivity.
