Thailand Content Market 2026: A Resounding Success Elevating the Nation’s Global Content Industry

Bangkok: The government is delighted that the first Thailand Content Market 2026 was an unexpected success. According to Thai News Agency, the government is pleased with the overwhelming success of the event, which generated a total trade value of 9,792.4 million baht, elevating Thailand's position as a regional hub for content trading, investment, and collaborative production.

Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the government commends the success of the Thailand Content Market 2026, the first trade fair and business matching event held from July 20-22, 2026, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. This event served as a crucial platform to propel Thailand's creative economy into the global market, connecting entrepreneurs, content producers and owners, investors, buyers, platforms, and business partners from various countries. The event resulted in 1,706 trade meetings over three days, generating a total trade value of 9,792.4 million baht, or 288.0 million US dollars. This is broken down into immediate value of 265.7 million baht (7.8 million US dollars), value within one year of 2,669.4 million baht (78.5 million US dollars), and value within 2-5 years of 6,857.2 million baht (201.6 million US dollars).

The value of trade negotiations, broken down by event activities, includes: Bangkok International Digital Content Festival (BIDC) - 2,108.5 million baht; Bangkok International Content Market (BICM) - 2,298.9 million baht; Business Matching Area - 1,948.0 million baht; and Thailand Content Market (TCM) - 3,526.9 million baht. Products receiving significant interest included films, animation, Boys' Love (BL) and Girls' Love (GL) series, productions, games, and content services.

Ms. Ploytalee stated that the total number of exhibitors was 338 companies, comprising 300 Thai companies and 38 foreign companies (from China, Korea, Japan, and ASEAN). The event attracted a total of 6,731 visitors over three days, consisting of 5,694 Thai visitors and 1,037 foreign visitors. The top 10 countries with the most visitors from 69 countries were: China (289 visitors), Taiwan (86 visitors), South Korea (74 visitors), Japan (69 visitors), the United States (57 visitors), Singapore (52 visitors), Indonesia (37 visitors), Malaysia (33 visitors), Myanmar (33 visitors), and Hong Kong (32 visitors).

The success of the Thailand Content Market 2026 will elevate Thailand's status as a regional hub for content trade, investment, and collaborative production. This includes creating a platform facilitating business matching, knowledge exchange, and international cooperation, thereby increasing business opportunities, expanding Thailand's intellectual property (IP) export market, and strengthening the long-term competitiveness of the Thai content industry in the global market.
