Thailand Helps Thailand Plus 60/40 Economic Initiative Boosts Economy with Over 6,214 Million Baht in Spending

Bangkok: "Thailand Helps Thailand Plus 60/40" continues to stimulate the economy, with cumulative spending exceeding 6,214 million baht and over 16.5 million people having already utilized their benefits. Today, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the initiative, which began on June 1, 2026, has received a positive response across the nation. The program is in line with the government's policy to invigorate the grassroots economy and increase purchasing power among the populace.

According to Thai News Agency, data from the Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of Finance, as of June 3, 2026, showed that 26,040,623 people had received benefits under the program, and 16,527,898 people had successfully spent the funds. The cumulative spending under the project totaled 6,214.99 million baht, with 3,614.79 million baht contributed by the government and 2,600.20 million baht by the public, indicating strong public participation in bolstering the economy and distributing funds to businesses nationwide.

Currently, there are 951,013 registered and ready-to-use merchants in the program, comprising 851,247 existing merchants and 99,766 new merchants. Additionally, 128,333 merchants are awaiting approval of the Terms and Conditions, and another 3,652 merchants are under review. The initiative has already benefited 829,130 shops, showcasing its effectiveness in increasing trade opportunities and generating income for small business owners, community shops, and local businesses on a wide scale.

Ms. Lalida emphasized that these figures reflect public confidence in the government's economic stimulus measures, demonstrating that funds from the projects can quickly enter the real economy, fostering economic circulation at the community and local levels nationwide. 'The government will closely monitor the progress of the projects to ensure that the measures effectively and comprehensively address the needs of economic recovery, increase people's purchasing power, and support small businesses,' she stated.
