Bangkok: Thailand has officially unveiled the medals for the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games, blending traditional Thai art with contemporary design under the theme “PLAY BY THE RULES.”
According to Thai News Agency, the organizers have introduced medals featuring a unique combination of “Thai art grid patterns” and “sports field frames.” This design choice aims to reflect Thai cultural identity in a modern context, emphasizing discipline, fairness, and the spirit of sportsmanship. Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, highlighted that the medals symbolize the convergence of sports, art, and cooperation within the ASEAN Community, with the “Thai weaving pattern” representing friendship.
The medals are crafted from strong, durable materials and are plated in gold, silver, and nickel. They measure 8.5 cm in diameter and 0.8 cm in thickness, with the front displaying the 2025 SEA Games logo and the back featuring the SEA Games Federation logo along with the competition text. The ASEAN Para Games medals will maintain the same design, differing only in logos and symbols, and are scheduled to take place in Nakhon Ratchasima Province from January 20-26, 2026.
Dr. Yodmanee emphasized the meticulous standards adhered to in crafting each medal, expressing confidence that they will serve as a “medal of pride” for every athlete who earns them.
