Bangkok: The government is set to host a significant event, "THAILAND²," on July 21st, aiming to enhance future skills and drive exponential economic growth. Today (July 20, 2026), Lieutenant Colonel Patthadarasmi Thongsalooykorn, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, disclosed that the "THAILAND² Empowering Thailand, Upgrading Human Capital" event marks a pioneering collaboration among five key ministries. The initiative seeks to create opportunities and develop skills for all Thai citizens, transforming education, science, research, and innovation to meet the demands of the modern world. The event, to be held at Kasetsart University, will feature Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presiding over the opening ceremony.
According to Thai News Agency, the "squared" or exponential growth concept is at the core of the event, emphasizing sustainable development with a focus on people. This approach aims to broaden learning opportunities by distributing capital and education more equitably, reducing inequality, and producing a highly skilled workforce to support future industries such as digital, AI, and new energy. The event also seeks to promote innovation by transforming research into practical, income-generating solutions for everyday challenges.
The Deputy Spokesperson further revealed that THAILAND² will highlight the achievements of the past 90 days and outline concrete human development policies from five ministries: the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and the Ministry of Labour. Team-building activities between agencies and participants will also be featured to collectively enhance the potential of Thai people. The event is open to the public and can be attended free of charge, with a live broadcast available on the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation's Facebook Live page.
