Bangkok: Thaksin, Khunying Potjaman, and Ung Ing joined the Pheu Thai Party after the Constitutional Court ruled that the Prime Minister had left office along with the Cabinet. At approximately 5:00 PM, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra arrived at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters in his private black Lexus. He drove around to the back of the building, where a large number of media were waiting to take photos. Upon exiting the car, he entered the building from the back, which was the former Voice TV studio. He was wearing a white shirt and immediately received a phone call upon seeing the media. The media attempted to inquire about the court's opinion, but Thaksin simply bowed his head and began talking on the phone before taking the elevator.
According to Thai News Agency, within three minutes of Thaksin's arrival at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters, his daughter, Paethongtarn Shinawatra, exited her car in front of the party headquarters, where a crowd had gathered to offer their support. Paethongtarn spent considerable time there greeting the crowd, occasionally bowing to greet them on the stairs, and they chatted for quite some time.
The media attempted to question Ms. Paethongtarn about the Constitutional Court's ruling, but she did not respond. She merely smiled and focused on talking to the crowd rather than answering questions. A key source of support during this time was her mother, Khunying Potjaman Shinawatra, who also came to offer her support at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters.
Several Pheu Thai Party MPs, party executives, and ministers also visited the Pheu Thai Party headquarters to offer words of support to Ms. Paethongtarn. These included Mr. Chaturon Chaisang, Mr. Danupon Punnakanta, Mr. Wisut Chainarun, and many others. Some of them came to offer support and left in the evening, while others remained at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters to discuss matters.
