The Department of Livestock Development pushes Thai Halal livestock to the world market.

Krabi, The Department of Livestock Development is pushing for Halal livestock, inviting interested people to visit the exhibition, receive consultations, and participate in a seminar on 'The Complete Halal Goat Farming Method and Sustainable Problem Solving'. Veterinarian Somchuan Rattanamangkhalanon, Director-General of the Department of Livestock Development, has assigned the Bureau of Livestock Standards and Certification to attend the 'Krabi Andaman Halal Festival' 2024 at the Krabi Central Mosque to enhance the capabilities and increase opportunities for Thai Halal livestock producers to enter the global Halal market, as well as promote the transfer of knowledge in Halal livestock academics by providing consulting services on criteria, conditions, and requirements for exporting Halal products to Islamic trading partners. In this event, the Department of Livestock Development has prepared to participate in the exhibition under the concept of 'Halal Livestock, Complete Cycle, Confident Tourism for Sustai nable Health' and to share special knowledge 'Halal Goat Meat Production Process According to Middle Eastern Standards' starting from the upstream to the downstream of meat production through the supervision of standards from the Department of Livestock Development. The Department has implemented proactive measures in accordance with the government's policy, visiting the southern provinces to listen to the problems and sufferings of farmers in order to elevate the Halal food center to the world's kitchens. The aim is to develop and elevate the Halal product and service businesses of Thailand to be recognized internationally. Therefore, the Department of Livestock Development has collaborated with the Central Islamic Council of Thailand to establish a project to develop and promote the Halal livestock industry by cooperating in the inspection and certification of slaughterhouses and meat sales locations to meet Halal food standards, to build confidence among Muslim consumers of livestock products both domestic ally and internationally. Surin Palare, Secretary-General of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand, on the topic of 'Cooperation in the Development and Promotion of Andaman Halal Affairs' (Academic, Technology, Production, Marketing and Innovation, Halal Science) with 40 agencies to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) together in 2025. On August 1st, there will be a seminar on 'Developing the tourism industry business group to meet Halal standards for tourism in the Islamic lifestyle group in Andaman Province.' On August 2nd, there will be a special lecture on 'Halal Business and Muslim Women for Social Welfare'. On August 3rd, there will be a seminar on the topic of 'Integrated Halal Goat Farming and Sustainable Solutions', moderated by representatives of the Department of Livestock Development. Currently, many types of Thai livestock products have the potential to be certified with Halal standards, which is an opportunity to compete in the Halal market more, such as beef and goat meat products, eggs, milk, honey, bird's nests, ice cream, yogurt, butter, cheese, etc. Thailand is ranked 4th in the world in terms of export value of poultry meat and poultry products, generating a value of more than 100 billion baht.
