The Ministry of Commerce is delighted with the GI Market 2024 Mobile Event in the South, with a better-than-expected response.

Nakhon Si Thammarat, The Department of Intellectual Property revealed that the 2nd GI Market Mobile 2024 event in Nakhon Si Thammarat received better than expected feedback. More than 30 outstanding Thai GI products from all regions were selected to be held in the middle of Nakhon Si Thammarat. Inviting everyone to pin down their favorite southern region at CentralPlaza Nakhon Si Thammarat. Mr. Awat Wongswat, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Intellectual Property, revealed that according to the policy of Mr. Napintorn Srisanpang, Deputy Minister of Commerce, who assigned the Department of Intellectual Property to continuously expand marketing channels for GI products, the latest visit was to Nakhon Si Thammarat to organize the GI Market Mobile 2024, bringing together the best Thai GI products for southern brothers and sisters to shop, taste, and chill at over 30 stores from today until July 17, 2024 at the promotion area, 1st floor, CentralPlaza Nakhon Si Thammarat Shopping Center. The Departmen t of Intellectual Property has an important approach to drive the community economy with geographical indications (GI), which is an important Soft Power of Thailand that helps create added value for community identity products. It has implemented all dimensions, including the registration of GI products, of which 205 GI products have been registered, generating over 71 billion baht per year, and quality control standards, as well as promoting and expanding marketing channels for Thai GI products. The main objective is to generate income for GI producers and entrepreneurs in the community, leading to an improvement in the quality of life of the people. This 'GI Market Mobile 2024' is the second regional event, following the GI Market Mobile in Udon Thani, which received a very good response. It is another important project that the Department of Intellectual Property wants to support in expanding marketing channels for Thai GI entrepreneurs and creating awareness of GI products to be more widely known. This t ime, the Department of Intellectual Property has gathered GI products from over 30 stores nationwide to sell at the event. The highlighted GI products are selected, such as Long Lablae durian from Uttaradit, Chiang Rai tea, Khao Wong sticky rice from Kalasin, Phetchabun sweet tamarind, Mae Hong Son tiger beans, Phetchaburi pudding, Lampang rice crackers, Mae Klong mackerel, Samut Songkhram, Songkhla Lake three-water sea bass, Phrae indigo-dyed cloth, Na Mom Ma sedge mats from Amnat Charoen, and Tak granite mortar. The quality and standards of GI products are guaranteed, delivered directly from the source to the consumer. In addition to the sale of GI products at the event, there will also be a live broadcast to promote products to interested people and to buy them by Mr. Juri Numkaew from the Laeng Lao By Jury page, a famous influencer in the South. There will also be a mini-concert by famous artists such as Luang Kai, Bew Kalyanee, Ying Thitikan, and Ratchanok Srilophan.
