The Ministry of Commerce is preparing to provide details on participating digital wallet stores next week.

Nonthaburi, The Minister of Commerce is preparing to announce details of shops participating in the digital wallet project, including participating products, next week, confident that it will be of full benefit to the people. Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, revealed the progress of the registration of stores to join the digital wallet project. He said that for stores, there will be an announcement from the Ministry of Commerce at the end of this week or early next week to provide more clarity because there are many details in this matter. If we do not discuss each part separately, it will cause confusion in the information. Therefore, yesterday was a big picture that the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance was the one who opened the topic of what the entire system is like. It is a matter related to individuals and how they can enter. There is a section about the Ministry of Commerce regarding responsibility in taking care of shops that will enter the syste m. At this point, we have a clear idea of ??which shops are included. From what we know roughly, there are about 40,000-50,000 shops from the Retailers Association, 150,000 Blue Flag shops, and about 5,000 restaurants, including shops from the Department of Provincial Administration, which includes about 400,000 street vendors and 900,000 legal entities. In total, there are about 2 million shops. Management will start in August-September. In the next 2 months, all shops will be able to enter the system. However, 2 million people have started to gradually enter the system. There shouldn't be any problems. There is also Phase 2, which will take care of bedridden elderly people. The method of verifying their identity with an ID card will be used by the caregiver. The details will be discussed again. At this time, it is considered preliminary. The shops have now inspected everything and coordinated all parts, with the DGA being the one to collect everything into the system. After that, it will be open for verifi cation of who has entered the system. It may take 2 months to move things forward clearly. I believe that by October, we should be able to finish everything and be able to proceed. For the Blue Flag stores under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, totaling 150,000 stores, they are all considered active. As for the Sensitive List products that can or cannot be used, the meeting has assigned the Ministry of Commerce to consider removing or importing some products. At this time, it is considered that there are no changes. In terms of details, it is expected that there may be some problems. At this time, it is considered a temporary solution for each part that occurs that we are overseeing. However, the entire system is currently quite confident that all of these products are suitable for use. As for the details, we will have to review and manage them again. We have to consider the voices of the people and look at the legal principles as well. Source: Thai News Agency
