The Port Authority allows people to travel through the port and transport goods for free.

The Port Authority of Thailand is rushing to help flood victims in Chiang Rai Province by allowing people to travel through the port and transport goods for free. They are also supporting relief bags and are on standby to help people during the recovery period. Mr. Kriangkrai Chaisiriwongsuk, Director of the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT), revealed that the flood situation in Chiang Rai Province has caused widespread damage to local people, resulting in the loss of both lives and property. Mrs. Manop Charoensri, Deputy Minister of Transport, has ordered agencies under its supervision to jointly help local people. The Port Authority has two ports in Chiang Rai Province: Chiang Saen Commercial Port and Chiang Khong Port, which are still open for service. They have urgently provided assistance and alleviated the suffering of the people. Chiang Khong Port has opened for cargo and passenger transportation services with a fee exemption. Chiang Saen Commercial Port has distributed relief bags and lunch boxes to help villagers affected by the flood in Chiang Saen District and nearby areas. He has also instructed the Chiang Saen Commercial Port and Chiang Khong Port to arrange officers to closely care for and facilitate the people and to monitor the situation 24 hours a day to prepare to help the people until the situation improves. The Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) Director continued that throughout the past, the PAT has consistently provided assistance and support to the people of Chiang Rai Province, as it is the location of both regional ports, through various CSR projects, such as the 'Khon…Keep Water for the Land' project, the 'Building Weirs to Store Water According to the King's Philosophy' project, the 'Planting and Conserving Forests Around the Port Authority' project, and in early August, executives and staff went to the area to deliver essential consumer goods to flood victims in the North. If the situation returns to normal, the PAT is ready to cooperate with various agencies to rehabilitate and provi de assistance to the victims after the water recedes, and would like to send encouragement to the flood victims to overcome this crisis as soon as possible.
