The Prime Minister said that debt problems must be resolved quickly.

Bangkok, Prime Minister posts that X must urgently solve the debt problems of "houses - credit cards - student loans - informal debt", believes that these measures will revive the economy. Prime Minister Settha Thavisin posted a message on X stating: Fellow citizens, I understand the economic challenges we are all facing, including debt burden, rising cost of living, and concerns about insufficient income. I would like to confirm that the government is not indifferent. We have urgently issued measures to alleviate the suffering over the next 3 months. Today, I have ordered an urgent resolution of debt problems in all aspects, including home debt, credit card debt, retail debt, and student loan debt, including moving forward to resolve informal debt problems by cooperating with various financial institutions. In addition, we are also focusing on helping farmers, controlling the quality of imported products, reducing the cost of living, and supporting tourism during the low season. These measures will help revive our economy in the short term, while laying the foundation for sustainable growth in the long term. We will work hard to ensure that all Thais see tangible results as soon as possible, and will continue to roll out additional measures until the end of 2024.
