Preparing to have the legal department examine the information and coordinating with the Civil Service Commission to jointly find the facts. Pol. Lt. Col. Aphat Sukhanan, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, spoke about the press conference alluding to the Thai parliament approving educational degrees from California University, saying that the House of Representatives and the Office of the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, including the Office of the Secretary-General of the Senate, have no authority to approve degrees both domestically and internationally. As for the allusion to Mr. Chuan Leekpai, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Pol. Lt. Col. Aphat stated that the Speaker of the House of Representatives also has no power. It is just that in the censure debate in 2020, there was a reference to an outsider, and the outsider wrote a letter to the Speaker of the House. After considering it, it was in accordance with the constitution and regulations that the said person was damaged, so he was given an opportunity to explain only. However, after this, legal consultation must be conducted on behalf of the office on what to do next, as the message referred to in the parliament has been published abroad. As for the case of Ms. Kesakamon Pliansamai, a member of the Senate, who is currently an issue regarding her educational qualifications from the said university, the Secretary-Gen eral of the House of Representatives said that he would not interfere and that it would be the duty of the Senate Secretariat to investigate further. As for Ms. Kesakamol's previous positions on several committees, the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives reiterated that the office is not responsible for checking whether the academic qualifications are true or not. This is contrary to the normal way civil servants are checked back. He admitted that this matter may cause society to have doubts and may coordinate with external agencies, such as the Office of the Civil Service Commission (O.C.S.C.), which has already come out to clarify that it has never certified academic qualifications from the said university, to discuss the facts in the case that was implicated.
