Nonthaburi: The government is closely monitoring the aftermath of a tragic shooting at Thepsirin School in Nonthaburi, which resulted in 9 deaths and 27 injuries. The Ministry of Public Health reports that 13 of the injured have been discharged from hospitals, while 14 remain hospitalized, with 5 individuals in critical condition.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, provided updates on the care being extended to those affected by the incident. As of 10:00 AM, the Ministry of Public Health noted the involvement of 36 individuals in total, comprising 27 injured and 9 deceased. The number of fatalities has remained constant, with no new reports of casualties.
The deputy spokesperson elaborated that of the 27 injured, 13 have been discharged, and 14 continue to receive medical attention. These patients are categorized into 5 critically ill, 5 moderately ill, and 4 mildly ill. Eight patients have undergone surgery, and all required treatments are being administered at hospitals equipped to handle their conditions.
The remaining 14 patients are being treated across 8 different hospitals: Phra Nang Klao Hospital (3 patients), Phra Mongkutklao Hospital (3 patients), Siriraj Hospital (2 patients), Chulalongkorn Hospital (1 patient), Kasemrad International Hospital (2 patients), Kasemrad Rattanathibet Hospital (1 patient), Thonburi 2 Hospital (1 patient), and Bang Kruai Hospital (1 patient). Plans are in place to discharge 2 more patients today, following improvements in their conditions.
The Ministry of Public Health has initiated a medical and public health incident command system in partnership with the Nonthaburi Provincial Public Health Office, public and private hospitals, and the National Institute of Emergency Medicine. This collaboration ensures ongoing monitoring of symptoms and coordination of continuous treatment for the injured. The ministry confirms that all patients will receive comprehensive care, with no financial or insurance-related barriers to their treatment.
