Nong khai: Tourists from across the Mekong River region gathered eagerly to witness the much-anticipated Naga Fireballs, which appeared as expected in various parts of Nong Khai Province, to the delight of onlookers.
According to Thai News Agency, at the Mekong River pier in Ban Tha Muang, Rattanawapi District, Nong Khai Province, tourists from across the country set up camp along a stretch of over 2 kilometers. They awaited the “Naga Fireballs,” a phenomenon occurring on the night marking the end of Buddhist Lent, specifically on the 15th day of the waxing moon of the 11th lunar month. The fireballs emerged as scheduled, prompting joyful cheers from the crowd. It is anticipated that visitors from throughout the province will continue to arrive to witness this event.
This year’s Naga Fireball phenomenon in Rattanawapi District, Nong Khai Province, drew a significant number of tourists, with areas such as Ban Nam Pe and Ban Tha Muang experiencing full capacity and increased traffic on secondary roads. Unofficial reports indicate that Naga Fireballs were observed in several locations, including both Nong Khai and Bueng Kan.
