Bangkok: The world premiere of the Toyota Hilux, a pickup truck that has long been with Thais, was held under the new names Toyota Hilux Travo and Hilux Travo-e, with the concept “Greater Together, Towards Greatness Together.”
According to Thai News Agency, Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. organized a world premiere press conference for the new 9th generation Hilux pickup truck, called ‘Toyota Hilux Travo,’ at the BITEC Exhibition and Convention Center. The new design, both exterior and interior, is based on the ‘Tough and Agile’ design concept that combines strength and agility. The front end is designed with the ‘Cyber Sumo’ concept, showcasing a Shikiri Pose ready for battle, reflecting stability and strength. The interior design follows the ‘Robust Simplicity’ concept, focusing on simplicity yet power, with practical functions and modern conveniences, including the latest Toyota Safety Sense technology.
Hilux Travo emphasizes handling and driving smoothness through the introduction of “Dynamic Cloud” technology, enhancing driving elements for smooth driving, precise control, and excellent stability. Each Hilux Travo model features a 2.8-liter GD Super Power engine that provides high power and improved fuel economy, saving up to 5.8% more than the 2.4-liter engine and 7.5% more than the previous 2.8-liter engine.
In addition to the diesel engine model, Toyota offers the “Hilux Travo-e” electric pickup truck, marking Toyota’s first body-on-frame electric vehicle. Developed based on the QDR (Quality-Durability-Reliability) principle, it maintains the performance and durability standards of the Hilux pickup truck. The Travo-e is enhanced with “Diamond Guard” technology to protect the battery and electric drive unit, ensuring safety for personal use, loading, or off-road driving.
The Hilux Travo will be available for the first time from November 21 to 30, 2025, at Toyota showrooms nationwide and at the 42nd Thailand International Motor Expo 2025 from November 29 to December 10, 2025, at Challenger Hall, Impact Muang Thong Thani.
