Bang pakong: A tense road rage incident unfolded on Thep Ratana Road when a 22-wheel trailer truck and a closed-box pickup truck collided after nearly 5 kilometers of aggressive driving. Neither driver was willing to yield, leading to a collision that forced the pickup truck off the road. The trailer truck driver subsequently fled the scene.
According to Thai News Agency, the dramatic encounter was captured on a dashcam on July 10, 2026, around 12:20 PM, on the inbound express lane to Bangkok in Bang Pakong Subdistrict, Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province. The footage shows both vehicles engaging in aggressive maneuvers before the trailer truck sideswiped the pickup, causing it to leave the road. After the collision, the driver of the trailer truck left the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, Mr. Natchanop, 24, reported to the authorities that he was initially driving in the left lane when the trailer truck began tailgating him, honking and flashing its lights, which led to the escalating confrontation.
On July 11, 2026, the trailer truck driver, identified as Mr. Winai (pseudonym), 35, presented himself at the Bang Pakong Police Station. He claimed that the pickup truck's erratic lane changes prompted him to honk his horn as a warning. However, he stated that the pickup truck driver responded with an offensive gesture, which further escalated the situation. Mr. Winai admitted to trying to force the pickup truck to the side of the road but denied initiating aggression.
The police are planning to convene another meeting with both drivers to further investigate the incident and determine appropriate legal actions.
