Transport Company Resumes Bus Services on Six Southern Routes and Initiates Flood Relief Efforts

Bangkok: The Transport Company has resumed normal bus services on six routes in the southern region and is accepting donations of items to help flood victims in the southern region at the Mo Chit 2 parcel receiving and sending center.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ayrin Phanrit, Deputy Government Spokesperson, stated that as the flood situation in the southern region begins to ease, buses are able to return to bus terminals and operate on normal routes. The government, through the Transport Company Limited (BKS), Ministry of Transport, has resumed normal bus services on the following routes: 1) Line 984 Bangkok – Trang – Satun, 2) Line 987 Bangkok – Yala, 3) Line 988 Bangkok – Satun, 4) Line 992 Bangkok – Hat Yai, 5) Line 9917 Bangkok – Pattani, and 6) Line 9917 Bangkok – Su-ngai Kolok. Joint-venture buses providing services in the southern region have also returned to normal operation.

In addition to resuming services, the Transport Company Limited (BKS) has opened a coordination center in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, to facilitate flood relief efforts. Volunteer staff are available to assist and coordinate with flood victims. The Hat Yai Bus Terminal can be contacted at 080-079-8426 for further assistance. Donations of relief supplies for flood victims are being accepted at the Parcel Pick-up and Drop-off Center at the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak) or Mo Chit 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. The BKS will coordinate the delivery of supplies to evacuation centers in Hat Yai and surrounding communities. The Transport Company Limited (BKS), under the Ministry of Transport, is supporting the government’s mission by deploying trucks to transport essential donations from the public, including relief bags, dried food, drinking water, and consumer goods, to the “Flood Relief Coordination Center” located at the Royal Thai Air Force Museum on Phahon Yothin Road, Bangkok. These efforts aim to provide relief to flood victims in the southern region.
