Bangkok: The Transport Company has announced the temporary suspension of six bus routes in response to severe flooding affecting several provinces in southern Thailand.
According to Thai News Agency, the Transport Company Limited (BKS) has updated the public on the ongoing flood situation, emphasizing that conditions in the southern region remain critical. As a result, six bus routes have been suspended due to safety concerns, impacting travel between Bangkok and the flood-stricken areas.
As of November 25, 2015, heavy rainfall has continued to cause significant flooding in the provinces of Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, and Satun. This has impeded bus operations, with affected routes including Line 984 from Bangkok to Trang and Satun, Line 987 to Yala, Line 988 to Satun, Line 992 to Hat Yai, and Line 9917 to Pattani and Su-ngai Kolok.
The Transport Company Limited has stated that the suspension of these routes will remain in place until water levels recede sufficiently to ensure the safety of passengers and staff.
