Trump Announces Unprecedented Economic Sanctions Against Iran

Bangkok: U.S. President Donald Trump declared a significant economic offensive against Iran, cautioning that any nation offering support or assistance to Tehran would face severe economic repercussions.

According to Thai News Agency, President Trump communicated through the TruthSocial platform that countries facilitating financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government agencies to aid Iran would encounter stern economic actions from the United States. However, he did not delineate the specific measures Washington would implement or identify any targeted countries.

In his social media message, Mr. Trump emphasized that despite offering Iran a substantial opportunity for negotiation, the nation did not capitalize on it. He proclaimed the initiation of the most stringent economic operation ever directed at any nation, describing it as an unprecedented level of economic warfare and blockade. He asserted that Iran's military and economic infrastructure had been decimated, its currency rendered worthless, and the nation plunged into a severe crisis.

President Trump further cautioned that countries permitting assistance to Iran in forms such as oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, currency exchanges, ship registration, and nominee companies would face serious consequences. He described this initiative as an economic "D-Day" and urged allies to join the United States in countering and overcoming the Iranian threat. He expressed confidence that these historic measures would curtail Iran's capacity to export terrorism globally and assured that Iran would never acquire nuclear weapons.
