US senators meet with Chinese foreign minister

Majority Leader of the US Senate leads a delegation to meet with the Chinese Foreign Minister.

The United States has continued to send high-ranking officials to China at a time when the two superpowers are in a tense confrontation. Most recently, Democratic US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer led a group of six to meet with Mr. Wang Yi, Chinese Foreign Minister at the Diaoyutai Guest House in Beijing today. Mr. Wang said China hopes that the United States can better understand China from the visit and help the two countries manage their differences more reasonably.

At this time it is not confirmed that Mr. Schumer's group will get to see the color Jinping, the president of China or not? He is the fifth high-ranking U.S. official to visit China this year. Starting with Mr. Antony Blinken, Secretary of State, Ms. Janet Yellen, Secretary of the Treasury, Ms. Gina Remondo, Secretary of Commerce, and Mr. John Kerry, the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.

President Joe US Biden said on Friday that He may meet Chinese President Xi at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in San Francisco in November. But there is no schedule yet.
