Varawut Supports Performance Evaluation of Bhumjaithai Party Ministers Following Poll Decline

Bangkok: Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry and a party-list MP from the Bhumjaithai Party, has expressed his support for evaluating the performance of ministers within the Bhumjaithai Cabinet, following a decline in their poll results.

According to Thai News Agency, Varawut commented on a statement made by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party. The Prime Minister announced that there would be a performance evaluation and a potential cabinet reshuffle as a response to the drop in poll results. Varawut viewed this as a positive development, suggesting that it serves as motivation for ministers to enhance their efforts. He emphasized the importance of balancing actual work with effective communication and public relations, noting that working without public relations is ineffective.

Varawut further stated that focusing solely on public relations without substantial work is not desirable for a minister or politician. He acknowledged the Prime Minister's concern about this issue and expressed his support for the directive aimed at improving government communication with the public.

When questioned about his own performance, Varawut refrained from self-assessment, leaving the evaluation to the media. He highlighted his continuous work ethic, mentioning that he works every day, including weekends, and reiterated that public perception is a matter for media inquiry.
