Bangkok: Vocational students have stepped up to provide crucial support to flood-stricken areas in southern Thailand, delivering thousands of lunch boxes and relief bags directly to those in need. Mr. Yotsapol Venugoses, Secretary-General of the Vocational Education Commission (VEC), announced that the Ministry of Education has tasked the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) with aiding flood victims, focusing on the regions of Songkhla, Satun, Phatthalung, and Surat Thani.
According to Thai News Agency, a dedicated team of vocational volunteers from various colleges has been mobilized to assist as much as possible. Hat Yai Technical College distributed 500 lunch boxes, 200 relief bags, and 100 packs of drinking water to the affected districts of Nam Noi, Khlong Hae, Bang Klam, and Hat Yai. Meanwhile, Luang Prachan Rat Nikorn Vocational College set up a kitchen to prepare and deliver boxed lunches to disaster victims in Sadao, Khlong Hoi Khong, Khlong Wa, Khuan Lang, and Kho Hong.
Chana Technical College took the initiative by opening a help center in front of the college to facilitate relief efforts. In collaboration, Songkhla Vocational College, Songkhla Technical College, and Tinsulanonda Fisheries College provided over 2,500 boxes of rice, drinking water, instant noodles, eggs, and hundreds of relief bags.
Additionally, Satun College of Agriculture and Technology, working with the Khuan Kalong Subdistrict Administrative Organization, conducted operations to relocate belongings and evacuate individuals from high-risk areas.
The mobilization of thousands of vocational volunteers is playing a pivotal role in delivering urgent relief to the affected communities, providing much-needed support during the ongoing flood crisis in southern Thailand.
