Wang Thonglang Police Crack Down on Late-Night Alcohol Sales at Entertainment Venues

Bangkok: Wang Thonglang police inspected entertainment venues and found two establishments operating beyond permitted hours.

According to Thai News Agency, Wang Thonglang Police Station continued its inspections in the Ladprao Road, Mahathai Soi, and Town in Town areas, finding two shops in violation and sending them for legal action.

Pol. Col. Jesada Yangnok, Superintendent of Wang Thonglang Police Station, along with integrated officers, inspected entertainment venues and similar establishments in the area. The operation was divided into three teams, targeting three zones: Ladprao Road, Mahathai Soi, and the Town in Town area. A total of 17 establishments were inspected. Checks included: identification cards of patrons and employees; firearms and other weapons possession; human trafficking and prostitution; random drug testing; and strict enforcement of operating hours. Furthermore, business owners were reminded of the following: valid licenses; prohibiting minors under 20 years of age from entering; preventing drug use, weapons, and prostitution; maintaining permitted operating hours; prohibiting indecent acts; and using loudspeakers in accordance with the law.

The inspection revealed two violations: Sema Karaoke for selling alcohol after hours and Ton Khoon Karaoke for selling alcohol after hours. A random drug test of 98 patrons was conducted, and no drugs were found on any of the establishments.

The Superintendent of Wang Thonglang Police Station revealed that this was a continuous operation, integrating police officers from Wang Thonglang and the SWAT team from Metropolitan Police Division 4, to conduct rigorous inspections of entertainment venues and businesses. This is in accordance with the policies of the Metropolitan Police Commissioner and the Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 4, which emphasize strict enforcement of the law at entertainment venues and similar establishments. The operation promotes the "Wang Thonglang Safe" policy, aiming to maintain social order and enhance safety in the area. Specifically, entertainment venues are prohibited from allowing narcotics, firearms, or minors under 20 years of age into their premises. Furthermore, establishments are forbidden from operating beyond legally permitted hours and from engaging in fighting both inside and outside. The goal is to build public confidence in the safety of those visiting the area.

Furthermore, efforts are being intensified to crack down on crime, vice, and illegal activities, especially firearms, prohibiting their entry into entertainment venues, businesses, and illegal nominee operations.
