Bangkok: The "War Elephants," Thailand's national football team, resumed their training sessions after a short one-day break in preparation for their forthcoming semi-final match against Singapore in the ASEAN Cup. The team is gearing up to face Singapore in the first leg of the semi-final on August 15 at Jalan Besar Stadium.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai squad continued their preparations at BGTC 3 stadium in Pathum Thani province. The training session was slightly delayed due to inclement weather, as heavy rain led to a 30-minute postponement. Anthony Hudson, the head coach, concentrated on physical recovery and fitness, having given the players a day off to rest.
Kampol Pathomarkakul, the team's leading goalkeeper for the tournament, expressed satisfaction with their performance in the group stage. The team successfully met their objectives, finishing first in their group, maximizing points, and maintaining a clean sheet throughout. Pathomarkakul acknowledged the improvement in the Singaporean team, noting their recent qualification for the Asian Cup finals, and emphasized that the Thai team would not underestimate their opponents, aiming to deliver an impressive performance.
Looking ahead to the second leg at Rajamangala National Stadium on August 18, ticket prices have been reduced by 100 baht across all seating zones, as coordinated by "Madam Pang" Nualphan Lamsam, President of the Football Association of Thailand. Tickets became available at 10:00 AM today through the official website and major ticket branches, with prices ranging from 200 to 500 baht. Despite a seating capacity of 50,000, previous matches saw lower attendance, with 16,037 attendees against Malaysia and 13,026 against Myanmar.
