Warm welcome to weightlifters arriving in Thailand

The atmosphere at Suvarnabhumi Airport was lively. Representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, and their families were waiting to welcome the weightlifting athletes who returned from the 'Paris 2024' Olympic Games and presented them with bouquets of flowers to congratulate them on their excellent performance. The Thai national weightlifting team who will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in France, consisting of 'Fang' Thiraphong Silachai, silver medalist in men's weightlifting, 61 kg category; 'Wave' Weerapol Wichuma, silver medalist in the 73 kg category; 'Oil' Surajana Khambao, bronze medalist in the 49 kg category; and 'Som' Duang-aksorn Jaidee, who finished 6th in the over 81 kg category, along with 'Seth Yod' Maj. Gen. Intarat Yodbangtoey, honorary president of the Amateur Weightlifting Association of Thailand; Ms. Busaba Yodbangtoey, advisor to the Weightlifting Association of Thailand; and Mr. Prachya Kiratinan, p resident of the Amateur Weightlifting Association of Thailand, along with their entourage, arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport this morning. They were welcomed by Mr. Phonphum Viphatiphumphatham, assistant minister to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and Mr. Kongsak Yodmanee, governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand. There was also a long drum procession, the weightlifting association team, government and private agencies, the educational institutions of the four people, and their families waiting to warmly welcome them. For weightlifters in the afternoon, they will receive a bonus from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand at the head office. The silver medalists will receive 3 million baht in prize money and the bronze medalists 2 million baht. Source: Thai News Agency
