Udon thani: Wat Pa Sri Khunaram is creating the "Luang Pho Prajak - Luang Pho Boonsin First Edition Amulet" to receive Kathina offerings. According to Thai News Agency, these amulets are being produced to commemorate the Kathina ceremony on November 1, 2026, serving as a memento to bring good fortune to disciples and participants in the merit-making event.
Reporters have noted growing interest among disciples and devotees in Wat Pa Sri Khunaram's plans to create the "Luang Pho Prajak - Luang Pho Boonsin, First Edition" amulet for the Kathina Samakki ceremony scheduled at the temple, located in Ban Jeet Subdistrict, Ku Kaeo District, Udon Thani Province. The disciples of Phra Ajarn Prajak Buripanyo and Luang Por Boonsin Chotipanyo's devotees advocated for the creation of these amulets as a blessing and keepsake from their teachers for this special occasion.
The temple has announced that commemorative gifts will be prepared for those who contribute 1,000 baht to each Kathina offering. Donors will receive a "Luang Phor Prajak - Luang Phor Boonsin First Edition" copper amulet, which is oval-shaped and measures approximately 2.5 x 3.5 centimeters.
The first edition coin features a half-body image of Luang Pho Prajak on the front, with an inscription along the top edge detailing the event: "Somphot Kathin Samakki 1 Nov 2569, Wat Pa Sri Khunaram, Tambon Ban Chit, Amphoe Ku Kaeo, Udon Thani Province, 1st Edition". The reverse side includes event details and a sacred Yantra inscription with the words 'Chaiya Chaiya Namo Buddhaya,' along with Luang Pho Boonsin's signature and the phrase 'Victory in Battle, Auspiciousness, Great Fortune.' The edges are adorned with floral patterns. These coins were placed in Wat Pa Sri Khunaram's main chapel, where monks from Samut Sakhon meditated and prayed over them for three months.
A large turnout of Buddhists and devout individuals is expected for this year's Kathina ceremony at Wat Pa Sri Khunaram. As an important merit-making event following the end of the Buddhist Lent, participants can receive the commemorative amulet as a memento of their revered teachers. Additionally, the temple has created sacred amulets for those who make merit according to their faith, offering a "Victory in Battle, Auspiciousness, Great Fortune" amulet to participants.
