Yotchanan Advances Double-Track Railway Initiative in Northern Provinces

Phrae: Yotsanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, is actively promoting a double-track railway project across seven northern provinces, including Phrae, Nan, and Phayao. During his visit to these regions, Yotsanan paid respects at Wat Phra That Chae Haeng in Nan, where he received blessings from the deputy abbot, Phra Ratchanantawatcharabandit. The purpose of his tour is to transform Nan into a tourism hub, advocate for the railway project, and support local rubber farmers.

According to Thai News Agency, Yotsanan, along with his team, is conducting a series of rallies from January 29-31, 2026, covering provinces such as Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Lampang, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Phayao. His journey began with a spiritual visit to Wat Phra That Chae Haeng, where he discussed religious matters with the deputy abbot and received a replica of the Phra That Chae Haeng relic as a token of goodwill. The deputy abbot expressed well wishes for Yotsanan's political success.

In his public address at Nong Nam Khrok in Nan Province, Yotsanan campaigned for several parliamentary candidates, emphasizing the Pheu Thai Party's commitment to economic recovery and agricultural support. He highlighted the party's plans to enhance tourism, improve infrastructure, and ensure agricultural profit guarantees, particularly for rubber plantations. The development of Nan Airport and the double-track railway is part of Yotsanan's vision to re-establish Nan as a significant tourist destination linking Thailand and Laos.

Yotsanan also outlined strategies to decentralize power, manage natural resources, and improve public welfare through financial support and healthcare policies. He urged local communities to support the Pheu Thai Party, expressing confidence in their experience and understanding of the people's needs.
