Yotchanan Advances Uten Thawai College Relocation Plan with Focus on Student Support

Bangkok:Yotchanan is moving forward with the relocation plan for Uten Thawai College, with a strong emphasis on supporting students and faculty during the 90-day transition period. Measures being considered include compensation for dormitory costs, tuition reductions, and access to laboratories for practical learning. A meeting with administrators is scheduled for October 22 to discuss these plans.

According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Yotsanu Wongsawat, has been actively addressing the relocation progress of Rajamangala University of Technology Eastern, Uthenthawai Campus. He has been in discussions with the institutions involved about the teaching and learning impact during the transition to online learning.

Mr. Yotsanan has engaged with students and rectors from both Uten Thawai College and Pathumwan Institute of Technology to mitigate the transition's impact. Efforts are being made to provide alternative learning options and practical training opportunities. The President of Uten Thawai College is tasked with exploring financial relief for students facing relocation challenges.

The relocation plan includes clear guidelines for new learning locations, although a transition period remains necessary. Mr. Yoschanan acknowledges the importance of ensuring educational quality and has coordinated with the Council of Engineers to support this initiative. He highlighted the need for cooperation from all parties and the provision of teaching equipment during the transition.

Concerns from former students opposing the site's move have been addressed with Chulalongkorn University, confirming the land will be used for educational, innovative, and industrial purposes rather than commercial development. Mr. Yotsanan stressed the importance of feedback from stakeholders to minimize the transition's impact.
