The initiative promises to revolutionize how residents travel within the city by utilizing artificial intelligence to optimize feeder bus routes and address drainage problems.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anucha, alongside Mr. Somporn Kongkhorat and Dr. Haroon Muhammad Ali, both candidates for the Bangkok City Council, engaged with local residents at markets in Bang Bon and Nong Khaem districts. During these interactions, they highlighted the pressing issues of inefficient public transportation, frequent flooding, and sanitation delays that impact the daily lives of the community.
Mr. Anucha's proposal for a feeder transportation system aims to integrate smaller vehicles for narrow streets and microbuses for secondary roads, with routes dynamically adjusted using AI. This approach seeks to ensure that passengers can be conveniently picked up and dropped off near their homes, thereby reducing the need for long walks to access public transport. Additionally, the plan considers the introduction of new boat routes to further enhance connectivity.
To combat flooding, Mr. Anucha outlined a strategy involving regular maintenance of drainage systems and the strategic upgrade of pumping stations and sluice gates. He emphasized the importance of conducting environmental impact assessments for future flood protection projects to ensure sustainable development.
