Bangkok: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has announced his support for Thailand's bid to host World Pride 2030, as part of a broader effort to promote gender equality during Pride Month.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul received a "Road to Bangkok WorldPride 2030" pin from the Pride City Network delegation. This gesture underscores the government's commitment to promoting gender equality in society during Pride Month and backs Bangkok's aspiration to host World Pride 2030.
In 2026, the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, alongside its network partners, is expediting policy development at the provincial and city levels to support gender rights and equality. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on May 28, 2026, to establish pilot provinces for gender equality, with support from 57 provinces and 1 city. This collaboration highlights the commitment of various sectors to earnestly promote gender equality across regions.
Throughout June, activities organized by all sectors demonstrate their readiness to seriously promote gender equality and foster a society that embraces gender diversity. This collective effort is crucial for Thailand's ambition to host World Pride in 2030.
