Ranong: Anutin Charnvirakul led a fundraising event for Ranong Hospital, raising 20 million baht to purchase medical equipment. He emphasized that 100% of the money must reach the hospital, with no change given and clear receipts provided, aiming to upgrade the medical system.
According to Thai News Agency, the event was held with the presence of several notable figures, including Mrs. Thanon Charnvirakul, Chairperson of the Cabinet Spouses Association; General Kriengkrai Srirak, First Vice President of the Senate; and Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, among others. Over 1,000 people from partner networks in Ranong, Phang Nga, Surat Thani, and other southern provinces attended the ceremony. The event was marked by a religious ceremony led by Phra Ratcharanangkwajiramuni, the Chief Monk of Ranong Province.
During the event, Mr. Anutin watched a welcoming dance performance by the Ranong Community College's line dance team and participated in religious rituals. The ceremony involved offering Kathina robes, with Phra Ratcharanangkwajiramuni examining the robes. Participants offered donations, poured water as a symbolic act of merit-making, and received blessings, concluding the ceremony.
In his speech, Phra Rajrachanang Vajiramuni highlighted the importance of hospitals in people's lives, from birth to recovery during illnesses. Mr. Anutin expressed gratitude for the donations aimed at purchasing medical equipment for Ranong Hospital, stating that it would benefit everyone, particularly in emergencies where travel to other provinces is time-consuming.
Mr. Anutin underscored the significance of the fundraiser, describing it as a starting point for the growth of Ranong Province in terms of tourism and industry, emphasizing the necessity of a well-equipped hospital. He insisted that the funds must be used exclusively for medical equipment, with all transactions recorded transparently.
He pledged to ensure the funds would be used to benefit the people of Ranong and announced that any misappropriation would be addressed seriously. The ceremony aimed to raise funds from generous donors to enhance healthcare services, ensuring quality and safe medical care for the people of Ranong and neighboring provinces. The total amount raised was 20,000,000 baht.
Additionally, the event coincided with the celebration of His Holiness Somdej Phra Ariyavongsakhatayan's 99th birthday in 2026, marking an auspicious occasion for the monastic community and Ranong Hospital.
