Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, recently shared insights into his respectful interactions with Thaksin Shinawatra, a notable figure and former Prime Minister. During a gathering at the Buddhist funeral rites for former Deputy Minister of Interior Krieng Kalptinant, Anutin was seen bowing before Thaksin, highlighting the continued respect between the two political figures.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin emphasized that his gesture of prostration before Thaksin was a natural act of respect, stemming from his past as a minister in Thaksin's government since 2004. Anutin clarified that their conversation was limited to exchanging pleasantries, with no special topics discussed. He also expressed that working with the Pheu Thai Party has been smooth, and the relationships between party members are amicable.
The event was notable for the presence of four former Prime Ministers: Anutin, Thaksin Shinawatra, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, and Somchai Wongsawat. Anutin expressed satisfaction at the gathering, underscoring the familiarity and cooperation among the leaders. He reiterated that the Pheu Thai Party is now a coalition partner, which has fostered a sense of camaraderie among the members.
Anutin further elaborated on the positive dynamics within the government, highlighting the roles of key figures such as Yotsanu Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Pheu Thai Party's cluster, and other prominent members like Suriya Jungrungruangkit, Julaphan Amornvivat, and Prasert Chantharawongthong. He affirmed that the collaboration among these leaders has facilitated smooth governance.
