Bangkok: Bangkok has officially launched a system for requesting free adult diapers through the Traffy Fondue application, with the first batch set for distribution on October 1st. Associate Professor Thawida Kamolwech, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, announced that the registration has been fully operational since August 12, 2026, allowing bedridden individuals, dependents, or those with urinary or fecal incontinence, as certified by a doctor, to apply.
According to Thai News Agency, applicants must fill in their name, caregiver information, and attach a medical certificate confirming their condition. Officials will review the documents and respond within three days, informing the patient of the results and scheduling an appointment. Public health officials and social workers will visit the patients' homes within 14 days to check their health status, advise on home hygiene, meet the caregiver, and plan the diaper delivery. The entire process takes approximately two to three weeks.
Deputy Governor Thawida stated that Bangkok currently has a stockpile of about 7,000 diapers ready for distribution. The initial batch will be distributed on October 1st. If registrations exceed the available stock, Bangkok will initiate short-term procurement phases and establish a systematic distribution system in collaboration with the National Health Security Office (NHSO), expected to start on January 1st, 2027.
Deputy Governor Thawida encouraged everyone to register on Traffy Fondue, enabling the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to monitor quantities and plan purchases and distributions effectively. The system aims to avoid placing an excessive burden on patients. In the first two days from August 12th to 14th, around 7-8 individuals registered, reflecting the system's ongoing testing for stability and user-friendliness. No problems have been reported so far, and patients or their relatives are urged to register.
Approved patients will receive three adult diapers per person per day, free of charge throughout the project. While Traffy Fondue registration is convenient, new patients who find it challenging can contact Bangkok Metropolitan Administration public health centers or district offices to apply for the service.
