Buriram: Anutin Charnvirakul, wearing a Buriram-themed shirt, led a significant ceremony to reinstall the nine-tiered finials on all 364 trees surrounding the King Rama I monument. The event, which included the symbolic placement of the 37th finial, was seen as an auspicious gesture for the upcoming year.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who also serves as the Minister of Interior and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, was joined by his wife, Thanon Niramis. The ceremony saw participation from notable figures including Buriram United Football Club President Newin Chidchob, Deputy Minister of Defence Lt. Gen. Adul Boonthamcharoen, Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob, and Saksayam Chidchob. Heads of government departments, politicians, Bhumjaithai Party members, and the public also attended the event, which took place at the monument of King Phutthayodfa Chulalok Maharaj, known as the Rama I roundabout, in Isan Subdistrict, Mueang District, Buriram Province.
Mr. Anutin commenced the ceremony by laying a floral wreath at the statue of King Rama I. He proceeded to light incense and candles as an act of worship to the Triple Gem. Monks chanted the Jayanto prayer, and the gilded finial was carefully installed on the spire at the front left side of the statue. Following this, Mr. Anutin made the "Plus" gesture, representing the Bhumjaithai Party's "Say It, Do It Plus" policy.
Accompanied by Ms. Thanon, Mr. Anutin continued to the 37th ceremonial umbrella. In a symbolic act, he placed the top of the umbrella first on Ms. Thanon's head, then on his own, before finally securing it on the nine-tiered spire of the 37th umbrella. He concluded by applying gold leaf to the number 37 and the base of the umbrella's pole.
The ceremony concluded with a group photo featuring Mr. Anutin, Mr. Newin, Pol. Gen. Permpoon, and Mr. Saksayam in front of the King Rama I monument before they departed.
