Bangkok: "Anutin" questions the "Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration" regarding the document advising against cooperation with the "DSI" in investigating Senator selection collusion, emphasizing that the "Ministry of Interior" holds no policy for civil servants to harass anyone.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul addressed concerns over a document from the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration. This document, issued before Songkran, was sent to all provincial secretaries, suggesting that if the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) investigates collusion among local senators, cooperation is not required. Anutin expressed his lack of awareness of the document and questioned the Director-General on the matter, asserting confidence that there was no valid reason for non-cooperation. He stressed that actions must align with the law, and both public and government entities must cooperate transparently, safeguarding national interests without hidden agendas, harassment, or intentional harm.
In response to a former Senator candidate, who alleged coercion by a district chief to provide information on the Senator collusion case, claiming it was directed by a politician, Anutin refuted such claims. He stated that anyone can make such allegations but assured that the Ministry of Interior does not endorse any district chief or civil servant engaging in activities unrelated to official duties. Anutin emphasized his commitment to official protocols and duties, stating he has never interfered or provided improper policies or guidelines, assuring the public of his adherence to the system.
