Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was thanked by kidney disease patients for the effective “Free Dialysis Everywhere” policy, which has alleviated the public’s burden.
According to Thai News Agency, six kidney disease patients expressed their gratitude, having benefited from the Ministry of Public Health’s initiative. The patients included four individuals from Rajavithi Hospital, Department of Medical Services, and two from Phranangklao Hospital.
The event saw the presence of key figures such as Mr. Phatthana Promphat, Minister of Public Health; Mr. Worachot Sukonkhajorn, Deputy Minister of Public Health; Ms. Chitrat Meethongthanakorn, Secretary to the Minister of Public Health; Dr. Somreuk Chungsaman, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health; Dr. Amporn Benjapolpitak, Director-General of the Department of Health; and Dr. Sakarn Bunnag, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Medical Services.
The policy covers treatments like hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and both automated and self-administered peritoneal dialysis. It also extends to patients with end-stage renal disease who have undergone kidney transplants, providing free renal replacement therapy and significantly reducing the financial burden on the public.
