Bangkok: Bhumjaithai Party is set to appoint Ekkanat as the head of its Bangkok team for the 2026 elections, with the slogan “The ultimate crime buster, destroying illegal capital.” The party is set to launch soon.
According to Thai News Agency, reporters have detailed the Bhumjaithai Party’s preparations for the upcoming 2026 general elections, particularly regarding the selection of potential MP candidates. A recent report indicates that the party will field a Bangkok MP candidate, with former Industry Minister Ekkunat Promphan as team leader. The party will leverage Ekkunat’s achievements in combating “gray capital,” a feat he demonstrated during his tenure as Minister of Industry. He established the “Team Sud Soi,” led by Thitipat “Oh” Chotidechachainan, whose work captivated the nation. This key selling point will be his campaign’s success.
The main reason Mr. Ekkunat is appointed team leader in Bangkok is to symbolize the Bhumjaithai Party’s anti-gray capitalism. Therefore, he is confident that this will be a selling point in Bangkok. Mr. Ekkunat and the prospective Bangkok MP candidates under the Bhumjaithai Party are expected to be introduced soon.
