Kuala lumpur: Anutin Charnvirakul has dismissed the possibility of meeting Thaksin Shinawatra during his official visit to Malaysia. The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior cited a demanding schedule as the reason for not accommodating a meeting with the former Prime Minister.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin's visit on July 9-10 is focused on security and economic discussions. When questioned about a potential meeting with Thaksin, who is currently in Malaysia, Anutin emphasized that his schedule is packed with an early morning meeting that extends throughout the day. Following these engagements, he is set to travel to the Sadao border crossing in Songkhla province to join Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for a border opening ceremony.
When asked whether he had met Thaksin since his release from prison, Anutin confirmed that he had extended his congratulations. Despite further inquiries about whether a meeting had occurred, Anutin simply nodded and confirmed that no meeting had taken place.
