Tunis:Government House Arsit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, has responded to criticism from Sutthipong Chulacharoen, the former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry. Sutthipong had expressed shame about being a retired civil servant from the Ministry. Sampanrat countered these remarks, asserting that since taking office, the Ministry has effectively addressed issues efficiently and quickly.
According to Thai News Agency, Arsit emphasized that past administrations may have been more embarrassing and defended the Ministry's efforts to boost civil servant morale and ensure fair treatment in various matters. He cited a specific instance where the Department of Local Administration, under the direction of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, completed an investigation within seven days regarding serious wrongdoing.
Several former permanent secretaries have expressed their support for the Ministry's actions. Arsit noted that while he has not spoken directly with Sutthipong, he has only seen him speaking to the media. He suggested that any concerns should be communicated directly rather than publicly through the media.
Arsit also addressed potential criticisms against the Ministry, emphasizing the importance of maintaining focus on public service. He acknowledged that criticism is normal but stressed the importance of encouragement and support for civil servants, as they are crucial to the Ministry's success.
