Madrid: Atletico Madrid have completed a £40 million deal to sign defender Cristian Romero from Tottenham Hotspur. This move is aimed at strengthening their defensive lineup.
According to Thai News Agency, the renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement for the 28-year-old Argentine defender. The deal, which includes bonuses, will see Romero move to La Liga after previous negotiations with Inter Milan fell through in July. Barcelona also withdrew from talks recently, paving the way for Atletico to secure his signing.
It was reported that Arsenal was not considered by Tottenham as a potential destination for Romero, as the club preferred not to transfer the Argentine international to a league rival.
