Nonthaburi: The autopsy results for Police Colonel Thongchai Yenprasert, President of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization, have been released, revealing critical details about the cause of his death. The findings indicate that a bullet pierced a major blood vessel in his neck, leading to significant blood loss, which was identified as the primary cause of death.
According to Thai News Agency, Police Major General Wirun Suphasinghsiripreecha, the Commander of the Forensic Medicine Institute at the Police Hospital, disclosed the preliminary results. The autopsy uncovered multiple gunshot wounds, with some bullets lodged inside Colonel Thongchai's body and others having exited. The most critical wound was in the neck, where a major artery was severely injured, resulting in massive and rapid blood loss.
The commander further explained that while the bullets included both embedded and penetrating types, additional details remain undisclosed at this time. Important forensic data concerning bullet trajectories and entry and exit points are being coordinated with investigators to aid in the ongoing legal process. Preliminary information is being made available to assist with these proceedings.
Despite the family's decision not to request further examination, the autopsy followed standard procedures applicable to all fatalities and is now complete. The body has since been returned to Colonel Thongchai's relatives for religious ceremonies.

The high volume of blood flow in the neck's major arteries can lead to significant and rapid blood loss, potentially requiring such medical intervention.
