Jakarta: Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supisara Piewsampran, the world number 3 mixed doubles pair, defeated their Malaysian opponents in two straight games to advance to the quarterfinals of the Polytron Indonesia Open 2026, a World Tour Super 1000 event held in Indonesia on June 4th.
According to Thai News Agency, in the second round of the mixed doubles, Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supisara Piewsampran faced a new Malaysian pair, Ho Pang Ron and Lai Pei Jing, who are ranked 253rd in the world. It was the first encounter between the pairs, and Bas-Fame displayed superior form, winning in two straight games with scores of 21-14, 24-22 in a match lasting 38 minutes.
Bas-Fame's victory secured their place in the quarterfinals, where they are set to face the winner of the match between Gao Jia Xuan-Wei Ya Xin from China, ranked 70th in the world, and Matthias Christiansen-Alexandra Boye from Denmark, ranked 5th in the world. The result of this upcoming match will determine Bas-Fame's next challenge in the tournament.
