Bangkok: Bhumibol Dam has reached 99.33% of its water capacity as of this morning, with a discharge rate set at 53 million cubic meters per day. The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) provided an update on the water levels at the reservoir, which holds a total volume of 13,371.80 million cubic meters. Of this, 9,571.80 million cubic meters are available for use, equating to 99.07% of its usable capacity.
According to Thai News Agency, the dam experienced an inflow of 92.54 million cubic meters yesterday. Despite the current high water levels, the reservoir still has the capacity to receive an additional 90.20 million cubic meters, marking 0.67% of its remaining capacity. The water level at the reservoir stands at 259.71 meters above mean sea level.
The Royal Irrigation Department has outlined a plan for the dam to release 53 million cubic meters of water daily, commencing today. Continuous monitoring and assessment of the situation will be conducted to ensure appropriate adjustments are made in response to changing conditions.
